STATESBORO, Ga. – August 8, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC’s Pedro Fonseca was named to the Week 16 bench on the USL League One Team of the Week for his performance against Spokane Velocity on Sunday, August 4 at Tormenta Stadium.
Week 16 marks the third week in a row that Fonseca has earned a spot in the Team of the Week accolades.
The midfielder attempted two shots during the match against Spokane Velocity and was able to convert one. Fonseca scored in the 19th minute, blasting a header past the keeper, following an assist from Sebastián Vivas.
Fonseca also won seven duels and completed 21 accurate passes during his 84 minutes on the pitch.
Fans can watch Pedro Fonseca and the rest of the Tormenta FC squad in action via ESPN+ at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10 as the team takes on the Richmond Kickers on the road.
