Tormenta FC Academy has announced the promotion of Martyn Blankley to Development Player League (DPL) Director, reinforcing the club’s commitment to elevating the girls’ pathway and positioning Tormenta FC as a premier destination for elite female player development. Blankley will also continue serving as the Academy’s College Recruitment Coordinator.
With more than 20 years of coaching experience, including nine years in NAIA men’s soccer and 11 years at the NCAA Division I women’s level, Blankley has helped lead nationally competitive programs while mentoring student-athletes on and off the field. His extensive background in the women’s game provides a strong foundation as he steps into leading Tormenta’s DPL platform.

Throughout his career, Blankley has coached championship-winning teams and guided numerous players toward collegiate and professional pathways. His experience in recruiting and talent identification will further strengthen exposure and advancement for Tormenta’s DPL athletes.

Holding a USSF C License and currently pursuing his UEFA B License, Blankley emphasizes high-level technical training, game understanding, and long-term player development. As a former player himself, who was recently inducted into his university hall of fame, Blankley offers a unique perspective on the game and a strong ability to connect with players of all levels. His coaching philosophy prioritizes confidence, decision-making, and leadership, key attributes in preparing female athletes for collegiate and high-level competition.
As DPL Director, Blankley will:

- Support and mentor the coaching staff within the girls’ pathway
- Strengthen recruiting connections and college placement opportunities
- Build clear, structured development pathways for female athletes
