Tormenta FC Academy announced today that Angelo Kelly will serve as the new Statesboro Academy Director. Kelly brings a wealth of experience to the role, having competed at the professional level for over nine years and coached several youth teams, including those with Charleston Battery and One Knoxville, as well as multiple collegiate programs.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Angelo Kelly as the Statesboro Director,” said Vice President Brad Nein. “Angelo’s experience as a professional player, combined with his proven ability as a coach, brings tremendous value to our club. He understands the game at the highest level and, more importantly, knows how to develop and inspire players within a positive and competitive environment. We are confident he will make a lasting impact on our players, families, and staff.”
As Statesboro Academy Director, Kelly will expand player development, support the coaching staff, and oversee Statesboro’s youth programming, including camps and community outreach initiatives. His leadership will play a key role in continuing to elevate the academy’s standards and fostering a culture of excellence.
“Futbol has given me opportunities to travel, compete, and grow as a person, and I’m thankful for everything the game has given me,” said Kelly. “Stepping into this director role allows me to give back by helping young players develop, building relationships in the community, and continuing to grow the game here in Statesboro.”
Tormenta FC Academy is also offering free evaluations for upcoming 2026/2027 tryouts, providing players of all levels the opportunity to be assessed by academy staff and experience the club’s developmental environment firsthand.
