Tormenta FC Academy will host a Futsal league at Jenkins Athletic Club in Savannah beginning in June.
What is Futsal?
Futsal, a variant of soccer, is played indoors on a basketball court with two teams of five players that includes a goalkeeper. It uses a smaller, heavier, low-bounce ball and is recognized by FIFA as the official indoor soccer game. Futsal is an excellent development tool for 11v11 players that teaches the importance of fundamental dribbling, passing, and teamwork.
The Tormenta FC Academy Futsal leagues will be divided into leagues as follows:
- U8 – Birth year 2016 and younger
- U10 – Birth year 2014, 2015
- U12 – Birth year 2012, 2013
- U14 – Birth year 2010, 2011
- High School – Birth year 2005 to 2009
Matches will begin play at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at Jenkins Athletic Club during June and July. The Futsal league will be eight weeks long and consist of friendlies on the opening week. Prior to the first week of play, each team will receive their schedule and we will also have a coaches meeting. Black out weeks with no games can be requested by teams. Each team is guaranteed seven games and playoffs. The final week of play will be the week of July 29th.

Players can register as an individual, similar to a free agent, or register as part of a team. The member who registers the team will be able to share a sign-up code with teammates. The cost to register for the Tormenta FC Futsal league is $100 per player. Registration is available now and is open until May 20.
