"I think it's a phenomenal opportunity that our club and the USL is providing for the youth players across the league," Nick Jaramillo, who serves as an assistant coach for Tormenta FC and was recently named the Head Coach of the USL Academy side, said. "Our club has done a great job to develop a plan that provides our youth players a direct pathway to USL League Two, USL League One and now the addition of the USL Academy Program.
"I'm very thankful and excited to be given this opportunity to be working with the USL Academy team and all that will be involved. We are excited to see the players in a professional environment that we are continuing to create across the board. The aim is to provide the best experience and environment that we can to help each player's individual growth in their soccer careers. Our youth players have worked very hard for this and we are looking forward to seeing them perform at this stage."

The USL Academy team aims to take age out of the equation with everyone playing for the purpose of pushing each other's boundaries. Jaramillo and Assistant Coach Jordan Melia want to see how well the players are able to adapt and control their environment and help pull players in around them to always lift standards on the training ground.
"I'm thankful and really excited to be given the opportunity to work with the USL Academy team," Melia said. "The club is making great things happen, and I am excited to be working with and learning from Nick Jaramillo on this project for the franchise. I'm excited to see the players in the environment that we are looking to create. Our aim is to make this as professional as possible, and we are thrilled to be able to offer our academy players this fantastic platform for them to showcase their abilities."
The Academy players will take part in two training sessions, with the first session of the day based on technical abilities and small-sided games. The second session of the day will consist of an 11-v-11 match.
Tormenta FC plans to hold additional Training Center Program events in the buildup to the 2021 USL Academy League season, with the next event to be hosted in December. The South Georgia-based club will announce additional details of its USL Academy team, including the official roster, exhibitions and more, in the coming months.
