
Adding to the success by the Tormenta FC Academy 2007 Boys and 2008 Boys teams at the ECNL (Elite Clubs National League) South Carolina National Event, the 2003 Girls and 2005 Girls teams each claimed a championship in the 2020 Fall US Youth Soccer South Carolina State Cup on Sunday, Dec. 13.
The TFC 2003 Girls recorded a 5-0 win in their semifinal on Saturday before earning a 3-0 win against South Carolina United FC 2003 Girls Challenge team on Sunday. Meanwhile, the TFC 2005 Girls recorded a 2-1 win in their semifinal on Saturday before earning a 1-0 win against the Bulls Soccer Club Girls Red 2005 squad.
"Over the course of the last year, our Select Girls Program has grown tremendously in numbers and quality of player," Brad Nein, TFC Academy Director of Operations said. "Combining these players with elite coaches in Miguel Lopez and Kian Brownlee has promoted consistent growth and development that has led to on-field success. Tormenta FC Academy is extremely proud of the ’03 and ’05 Girls in winning their respective state championships and look forward to them competing at the summer regional event."
