STATESBORO, Ga. – Taking the success of the club’s inaugural Training Center Program in November, South Georgia Tormenta FC has announced its first girls’ training event set for Jan. 9. TFC Academy’s top U17 female talents will gather for a chance to experience life as a pro on and off the field in a professionalized environment.
Tormenta FC’s second Training Center Program will be held at the Jennifer Ross Soccer Complex in Savannah, and all media are invited to attend. The club looks forward to laying the groundwork for future elite female teams as it prepares for the 2021 USL Academy Cup National Event on Memorial Day weekend.
“We had great success with the first event from the facilities to the product provided on the field by the players,” USL Academy Head Coach Nick Jaramillo said. “The event was a great opportunity for the players to express themselves and their abilities to perform in a professional environment. We are excited to host a Girls event and create the same opportunities for them as we start to assemble our first 2021 USL Academy Cup Girls Roster.”

The Girls Training Center Program will run similarly to the first event with opportunities to grow on and off the field, including training sessions in front of pro coaches and a media component with official headshots and a social media presentation from the TFC communications team.
Tormenta FC has scheduled another Boys Training Center Program for Saturday, Feb. 6, ahead of the 2021 USL Academy season. The USL Academy Player Pools for both of the upcoming training events will be announced in January with additional details in the coming months.
Tormenta FC was named a founding member of the USL Academy League’s Southeast Division in October. The inaugural season of Academy League play is due to kick off in spring 2021 and will provide clubs in all three of the USL's senior divisions (USL Championship, USL League One and USL League Two) with an elite youth development and competition platform.
