STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC has announced that TFC Academy coach Kian Brownlee has been promoted to Junior Academy Director. Brownlee has over 21 years of experience in youth soccer and will provide quality leadership and coaching to young players in the Academy before they make the jump to Select teams.
“Coach Kian does an amazing job working with kids between the ages of seven and 12, and we are thrilled to have him leading our Junior Academy program at Tormenta FC Academy,” Brad Nein, Vice President of Tormenta FC Academy, said. “The leadership he provides to advance soccer abilities, equip youth players with skills that lead to lifetime success, and raise the level of the coaches in our club will ensure that the players at Tormenta FC Academy continue to receive some of the best training in the region.
“Having witnessed firsthand the teams Kian was able to put together while he was leading other soccer clubs in our region, pulling him in to work with players at Tormenta FC Academy in a full-time role will be a significant factor to the future success we have as an organization.”
Prior to joining Tormenta FC, Brownlee was a successful club director and high-level coach for 21 years in Charleston, South Carolina. In May of 2020, Brownlee started as a coach within Tormenta FC Academy’s Select Girls Soccer Program. In his new position, Brownlee will not only serve as the Junior Academy Director but also as the Director of Camps and Off-Season Training. With Brownlee’s extensive experience in youth soccer, he will equip Tormenta FC’s young players in the Junior Academy with quality training and skills.

TFC Academy is the only youth soccer club featuring a direct path to a professional team in South Georgia and the Low Country of South Carolina. Featuring various playing levels, the Academy’s programming is specifically designed to improve players season to season and year to year based on individual player commitment and dedication levels.
