
STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 commanded tonight’s match against the Charlotte Eagles, winning 3-0 on the road after two results without a win. Mo Redjeb’s first-half goal earned Tormenta FC 2’s road lead, followed by two second-half goals by Gabriel Rodriguez and Adam Luckhurst.
Charlotte won three kicks within the first five minutes of the match, with the last in a dangerous scoring spot, but TFC 2’s defense and goalkeeper Drew Romig handled the pressure easily.
After several chances and shots on goal, TFC 2 earned a corner kick in the 35th minute. Defender Michael Hornsby took the corner and expertly found center back Redjeb, who was waiting to score his first goal of the 2021 USL League Two season.
In the second half, Tormenta FC 2 earned a penalty kick in the 55th minute, which Rodriguez converted gracefully to double the away side’s score.
