STATESBORO, Ga. – After over a week of rest, South Georgia Tormenta FC is eager to face the Chattanooga Red Wolves on Wednesday, July 14. This important road match will kick off at 7 p.m ET from CHI Memorial Stadium.
The two regional rivals met last on June 5 at Erk Russell Park where Tormenta FC defeated the Red Wolves in a 1-0 clean sheet with the lone goal scored by Azaad Liadi, his debut goal for the club.
On August 22, 2020, Tormenta FC took down Chattanooga 2-1 while a man down at CHI Memorial Stadium with two late-match goals. Marco Micaletto scored a penalty in the 78th to tie up the match, while Luca Mayr-Fälten scored a banger from 30 yards out to win the match and take all three points.
Chattanooga hasn't won a match since June 20 and comes off three draws in a row. The Red Wolves will surely be looking for a win at home to bounce back, and Tormenta will need to think outside of the box and finish its chances to take home all three points.
Following Wednesday’s match, Tormenta FC continues its road trip and will battle Greenville Triumph on Saturday, July 17. The pro side will then return home to Erk Russell Park to host the Richmond Kickers for Family Night with free student tickets, presented by Your Pie of Statesboro.
