STATESBORO Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC is set to take on Chattanooga Red Wolves SC this Friday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m. ET from CHI Memorial Stadium. Friday’s fixture between both sides will be a rematch of last year’s USL League One Final, which culminated in Tormenta FC’s first title in club history.
In its last League One fixture, South Georgia was unable to secure its fourth victory of the season after falling to the Richmond Kickers 1-3. Kingsford Adjei found his first goal of the regular season after a shot found the back of the net in one of the team’s only shots on target of the night.
On Friday, South Georgia will take on one of the lowest goal-scoring teams in the league (5) with a conversion rate of 14.3% compared to South Georgia’s 15.4%. South Georgia will aim to secure its second-ever away victory against the Red Wolves with its last win at CHI Memorial Stadium coming in 2020. In its only visit to CHI Memorial Stadium in 2022, South Georgia was defeated 2-1.
South Georgia’s injury list has been vastly reduced, with Jake Dengler being available for selection. Kazaiah Sterling and Arthur Bosua are set to return in the coming weeks. Midfielder Matheus Cassini is unavailable for selection this Friday following an injury this week.
South Georgia is poised to make a strong push for the championship title in the upcoming season. Fans can secure their seats at the new Tormenta Stadium ahead of 2023, with Season Tickets now available for purchase.
