STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC midfielder Pedro Fonseca was voted the South Georgia Tormenta FC Player of the Month (USL League One) for August. The Brazilian talent had a productive month on the offensive end for Tormenta FC, scoring three goals while also recording two assists and eight goal-scoring chances created.
The winner was determined via a weighted average from the following three voting bodies:
- A fan vote comprised 60 percent of the poll.
- The Tormenta FC staff ballots comprised 20 percent of the poll.
- Media ballots comprised 20 percent of the poll.

Fonseca earned 35.198% of the total vote, with attacker Jackson Khoury coming in second with 31.2%. Forward Kazaiah Sterling and midfielder Mukwelle Akale followed at 26% and 7.602%, respectively.
After a stellar month, Fonseca and Tormenta FC now turn their attention to back-to-back road matchups. First, the South Georgia side will head west to play Northern Colorado on Sunday, Sept. 10 (ESPN+). Then, Tormenta FC will head to Cary, North Carolina, for a second time this season to play North Carolina FC on Saturday, Sept. 16 (ESPN+).
