STATESBORO, Ga. – Midfielder Pedro Fonseca was voted the South Georgia Tormenta FC Player of the Month (USL League One) for September. The Brazilian Midfielder won the award for the second month in a row through his efforts during September. Over the course of the month, Fonseca scored one goal, assisted a goal, and created eight goal-scoring chances.
The winner was determined via a weighted average from the following three voting bodies:
- A fan vote comprised 60 percent of the poll.
- The Tormenta FC staff ballots comprised 20 percent of the poll.
- Media ballots comprised 20 percent of the poll.

Fonseca earned 50.30% of the total vote, with Goalkeeper Pablo Jara coming in second with 45.51%. Midfielders Jackson Khoury and Mukwelle Akale followed at 2.14% and 2.05%, respectively.
After another great month, Fonseca and Tormenta FC now turn their attention to the final two games of the season. First, the South Georgia side will host the league leaders, Union Omaha at Tormenta Stadium on Oct. 7. Then, Tormenta will travel to Charlotte to finish their regular season against the Charlotte Independence on Saturday, Oct. 14. (ESPN+)
