Statesboro, Ga – March 26, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC is pleased to sign Jenna Morgan, pending league and federation approval. Moran will join the club this summer after playing between the pipes for the Charleston Southern University Buccaneers last fall.
“Playing for Tormenta FC in the USLW presents a new chapter filled with challenges, growth, and the chance to showcase my skills on a bigger stage. I am eager to contribute to the team’s success, to learn from my coaches and teammates, and to push myself beyond my limits,” Moran exclaimed.
Goalkeeper Moran is coming off a phenomenal season with Charleston Southern University, being named Big South Goalkeeper of the Year after winning the award before in her junior year. She was also named First Team All Big South in 2021 and 2023.
During her senior year, Moran only allowed 1.17 goals per match which is best for fifth in program history. She made 87 saves leading the Big South Conference with an impressive .837 save percentage in Big South play. Moran finished her collegiate career totaling 201 saves, allowing only 50 goals, and posting ten shutouts.
“Jenna brings a wealth of experience to our GK group this year. She has the physical profile we look for here at Tormenta FC and possesses all the tools to play at a very high level. She has great range, is an excellent shot-stopper, and can distribute and build the game from the back with her hands or feet. She is also a strong leader and can command and organize her team from the back.” Coach Jim Robbins said.
