STATESBORO, Ga – April 9, 2024—South Georgia Tormenta FC will bring in center midfielder Tal Faingezicht to the W league team this summer, pending league and federation approval.
Faingezicht comes to the club after playing for Fordham and Louisiana Tech University, as a defender where she logged a total of 784 minutes throughout her time in college. Faingezicht was sidelined with an injury her freshman year at Fordham, however she would come back and eventually finish her collegiate career with Louisiana Tech, reaching the second round of the Conference USA Tournament.
“Joining such a competitive club and league is exactly what I was looking for, and I am grateful for this opportunity. I am super excited to join Tormenta this summer and start working with all the girls and the staff. I am sure we will have a great summer, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together!” Faingezicht added.
Faingezicht has played on the intentional stage for her country, playing for the Israel National team. Along with playing club soccer for ASA Tel Aviv, the midfielder has participated in two of the Israeli national teams while also serving as the team captain on the U19 team. Faingezicht also took the pitch in the UEFA Women’s Qualifiers from 2018-2020.
Head Coach Jim Robbins spoke on his newest midfield singing saying, “Tal brings a lot of Israeli YNT experience to Tormenta FC. She is easily one of the most versatile players that we have on our team this summer. She is very technical, has great vision, and can make all the passes. Her skillset allows her to play anywhere in midfield, but she can also play in the back or out wide. Tal is very good at keeping the ball and getting out of pressure. She is a perfect fit for our style of play and understands the value of positional rotation and attacking fluidity.”
