Statesboro, Ga – May 1, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC welcomes Krista Peterson to the 2024 W League roster, pending league and federation approval.
“I am committed to contributing my utmost to the team, pushing for excellence in every game, and being part of the ongoing success story of the W League,” Peterson said. “As we embark on this season, I look forward to creating unforgettable moments of achievement, personal growth, and collective joy.”
Peterson will join the Tormenta FC family from the University of Hawaii, where she recently finished her third year with the Rainbow Warriors, providing two assists during the 2023 season. In 2022, she led the team in both goals and assists, netting five goals and providing four assists throughout the season. Peterson also found herself second-best in the Big West conference with three game-winning goals. Through the course of her career at Hawaii, she already has six goals and seven assists in 41 games played with the program.
The midfielder joined the Rainbow Warriors in 2021 after transferring from North Carolina State, where she spent the shortened 2020 season.
Head Coach Jim Robbins spoke on the anticipation of adding Peterson to an already stacked midfielder class, “Krista is a crafty, possession-oriented midfielder whose skill set fits perfectly into our game model on the attacking side of the ball. She can get herself out of pressure, can complete all the passes, and can run at defenders with the ball. She can also be dangerous and score goals from in and around the penalty area. She will play a couple of roles for us and will prove difficult to match up against.”
