STATESBORO, Ga. – May 9, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC is proud to announce the signing of midfielder Piper Biziorek. The midfielder joins following her first season with Rice University.
“I came to Tormenta to develop my game and push towards the next level. Here, both players and coaches share this vision and are ready to work together and put in the work to make that happen,” Biziorek said. “I’m looking forward to competing this summer and building the foundation for what comes after.”
Biziorek started seven matches in her first year with the Owls, making ten total appearances. The redshirt junior netted one goal against Xavier University.
Before joining Rice University, Biziorek played at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Charlotte. She redshirted during the 2022 season due to an injury that kept her out for the entire season. Prior to her injury, Biziorek made 28 appearances for the 49ers, starting in 23 matches. She netted eight goals and provided five assists during her two seasons with the 49ers.
Biziorek was recognized for her performance at UNC Charlotte, as she was selected as a Second Team All-Conference USA member in 2021 and voted to the All-Conference USA Freshman Team in 2020.
“Piper is a possession-oriented midfielder and winger who adds another layer to our attacking options this summer. She is really crafty with the ball at her feet, and she can keep the ball or play the little passes to put opponents out of the game,” Head Coach Jim Robbins said. “She can also score goals as well which makes her even more dangerous in and around the box. Her ability to link the game will prove valuable to the way we like to play.”
