STATESBORO, Ga. – June 5, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC’s W League team has announced four nominees for the Tormenta FC W League Player of the Month award for May, and fans have their chance to vote!
Momo Nakao, Carlyn Presley, Elis Nemtsov, and Melanie Mikoy are up for the honor for their May form.
Voting for the Tormenta FC Player of the Month award will run until noon Friday, June 7. The winner will be determined via a fan vote in the Tormenta FC app, which can be downloaded here.
Player of the Month Nominees:
Momo Nakao, Midfielder: The Japanese midfielder has played a pivotal role in the opening of Tormenta FC’s season, scoring the team’s first goal of the 2024 season against Fayetteville Fury. The midfielder also found the back of the net in the team’s home opener against NC Courage U23s.
Carlyn Presley, Midfielder: The University of Alabama at Birmingham winger also scored in the team’s first match of the 2024 season, finding the back of the net early in the second half. Presley also earned a penalty in the final match of May against South Carolina United FC. She was also named the Tormenta FC Player of the Match against the Fayetteville Fury.
Elis Nemtsov, Midfielder: The USL W League Champion leads the team in goals with three in May, including a brace in the team’s 1-4 win against South Carolina United Bantams FC. Nemtsov was also named the player of the match for her performance against the Bantams.
Melanie Mikoy, Midfielder: Mikoy started each match for South Georgia in May and found the fourth goal in the team’s season opener. The midfielder has been a rock for South Georgia in midfield, playing a role in breaking down the opposition’s build-up play.
