Mady Soumare scores brace to propel South Georgia forward
Riding the momentum of back-to-back home wins, South Georgia Tormenta FC’s USL W League team hit the road on Tuesday, opening a busy three-match week with a 2-0 victory over South Carolina United Bantams.
French forward Mady Soumare led the charge, scoring twice in the first 20 minutes, her second and third goals of the season, with finishes in the 7th and 19th minutes to give Tormenta a quick and commanding lead.
On the other end of the pitch, goalkeeper Cora Brendle and the Tormenta back line held firm, securing a clean sheet and the club’s third straight win.
The Ibis now returns home to Tormenta Stadium for two more matches this weekend, hosting the Charlotte Eagles on Friday, June 6, followed by a rematch against South Carolina United Bantams on Sunday, June 8.
