Tormenta Faces Wake FC in Next Two W League Fixtures
South Georgia Tormenta FC faces a new opponent in the next two games of the USL W League season. The Ibis hosts Wake FC on Saturday, June 21, at Tormenta Stadium before playing them again on Wednesday, June 25, at Ting Park in Holly Springs, NC.
At this point in the season, Wake City has only garnered three points in eight games, while Tormenta has acquired 13 points in nine. Losses in the past matchweek have left South Georgia in a lower position in the South Atlantic division standings. As a result, two wins against Wake FC would prove advantageous before the final fixture against Carolina Ascent FC.
Defender Ida Marhaug has been a prominent member of the Tormenta backline all season, starting all nine games so far. The Norwegian centerback’s formidability has been a key asset to the team, providing strong tackles and intensity to the defense. Natalia Santangelo’s control in the midfield has also been a staple of Tormenta’s W League squad this season. Santangelo has registered two goals so far, proving her worth in the Ibis’ midfield. Marhaug, Santangelo, and the rest of the team will have much to show in the coming fixtures.
Tormenta FC heads into a two-match trial against Wake FC, with the first game being played at Tormenta Stadium on Saturday, June 21, at 7:00 p.m. before the team travels to North Carolina for the away fixture at Ting Park on Wednesday, June 25, at 7:00 p.m. Make sure to support the Ibis in the final home game of the 2025 USL W League season by purchasing tickets now!
