South Georgia Tormenta FC continues its three-match away trip on Wednesday, July 23. The second match on the road sees Tormenta FC face Forward Madison FC in a USL League One clash at Breese Stevens Field in Madison, WI, at 7:00 p.m. CT (8:00 p.m. ET).
This will be the first time the teams face each other this season, and with both sides seeking out three points to advance in the league standings, Wednesday’s match could prove to be a crucial one for the Ibis.
Tormenta FC continues to improve its form following a 2-1 victory over Union Omaha on Friday night. The man responsible for both goals in the latest fixture is Israeli forward Yaniv Bazini. Bazini’s second brace of the season not only gave Tormenta all three points in Nebraska but also earned him his second appearance in USL League One’s Team of the Week. In the 75 minutes he was on the pitch, the Tormenta forward completed 88% of his passes, reeled in three recoveries, and won one duel. Yaniv looks to shine again against Forward Madison, making him one to watch out for during the match.
Forward Madison has not had much success so far this season, with the team finding itself last in the league standings. Despite this, a recent win against Greenville Triumph and a draw against Charlotte Independence suggest a change of fate for the Flamingos. With five goals in 14 appearances, forward Derek Gebhard appears to be the Wisconsin side’s biggest asset. Being responsible for one of the goals in Forward’s win over Greenville Triumph, he may be a player the Tormenta defense must look to be ready for.
