Rasheed Makes First Team of the Week Appearance
South Georgia Tormenta FC’s defender Makel Rasheed had been named to the USL League One’s Team of the Week for the first time in his professional career after scoring in the ninth minute by heading the ball into the net.
Rasheed signed with Tormenta FC in June of 2025, and within less than two months, he was able to take the match to another level by scoring so early on in the game. Not only was this his first professional goal in his career, but the first wearing the navy and magenta Tormenta jersey.
This marks Rasheed’s first Team of the Week appearance this season. He joins his teammates, Mason Tunbridge, Niall Reid-Stephen, and Gabriel Alves, who have also been named to the Team of the Week during the 2025 season.
Tormenta FC heads to Florida to face Naples FC for the second time this season. The match will be nationally broadcast on CBS, Wednesday, August 6th at 8:00 pm. The Ibis will be returning to the home field on August 30th to fight against Forward Madison FC. Tickets to Tormenta Stadium are available here.
