The U19 DPL Girls Tormenta FC team delivered a truly exceptional season, finishing undefeated in the highly competitive DPL Southeastern Region and setting a standard of excellence both on and off the field.
The journey began the preseason with a strong statement win against NJCAA Division I USC Sumter, immediately establishing the group’s competitiveness. With future preseason matchups already in the works against ABAC (NAIA)and South Georgia College (NJCAA Division I), the program continues to challenge its players at the highest levels.
During league play, the team posted an impressive 12 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw, competing against some of the strongest teams in the DPL. Across 13 competitive matches, Tormenta FC conceded just 3 goals while scoring 52, showcasing a complete team performance on both sides of the ball. Every rostered field player contributed to the scoring tally, a testament to the depth, balance, and collective mindset of the group. One of the season’s standout moments came in regional play versus JISC, when the team’s sharp preparation and quick, connected play produced a goal in under a minute, setting the tone early and reflecting the group’s commitment to playing together.
The season reached its peak at the DPL Eastern Regional Finals, where Tormenta FC faced the best teams from across the Southeast. The team went a perfect 3–0, scoring 11 goals and conceding none, and was one of only two teams at the Finals to keep clean sheets in all three matches. Each match was a hard-fought battle against highly competitive opponents, and the team’s defensive organization, composure under pressure, and attacking efficiency set them apart as one of the top programs in the region.
As a result of their consistency and success, the team finished the DPL season ranked 7th nationally. They then turned their focus to the Disney Girls Soccer Showcase, one of the premier recruiting events in the country. The team returned home after an impressive run to the semifinals, competing in the top division, top bracket, and delivering a fantastic display of talent, composure, and competitiveness throughout the weekend. The event attracted hundreds of college coaches and recruiters from across the nation, providing the perfect stage for the team to showcase their skills against elite programs from across the country, an outstanding platform for these players as they continue their journeys toward higher education and college.
Off the field, the team’s success continues to translate into opportunities at the next level. Graduating seniors have earned college commitments across NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and NJCAA Division I programs, many with scholarship support. Current commitments include:
- Virginia Military Institute
- Anderson University
- Erskine University
- South Georgia State College
- Truett McConnell University
- University of North Carolina at Greenville
These achievements are a direct reflection of the players’ dedication, work ethic, and commitment to their development. With several underclassmen already in communication with college programs, the future remains incredibly bright.
Congratulations to all of the players on an outstanding season. Your professionalism, resilience, and belief in one another made this season special and laid the foundation for continued success at the next level and beyond.
