STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC has announced three Players of the Month across its USL League One, League Two and W League teams, following impressive performances in June.
The winners were determined via a weighted average from the following three voting bodies:
- A fan vote comprised of 60 percent of the poll.
- The Tormenta FC staff ballots comprised 20 percent of the poll.
- Media ballots comprised of 20 percent of the poll.
On the professional side, midfielder Gabriel Cabral continues consolidating himself in the Tormenta FC midfield. After winning Tormenta FC’s Player of the Month in May, Cabral continues to perform in important matches. Cabral played 432 minutes in June and led the team in chances created with 23.
Cabral earned 50% of the total fan vote, with midfielder Adrian Billhardt coming in second with 29.60%. Midfielder Kingsford Adjei and forward Kazaiah Sterling follow with 18.35% and 2.04%, respectively.

From the USL W League team, Amy Andrews earns her second consecutive Player of the Month honors after yet another month full of goals. Andrews scored nine goals and recorded two assists in June. Additionally, Andrews has cemented herself in the Tormenta FC record books with the most goals scored in a game after netting four in South Georgia’s victory over Tennessee SC.
Andrews earned a majority of the fan vote with 57.78%, followed by midfielder Jenae Packard at 19.11%. Defender Abby Wolf and goalkeeper Sydney Martinez earned 17.61% and 5.48% of the fan vote, respectively.

Tormenta FC 2’s Alejo Binaghi was named TFC 2 Player of the Month after being TFC 2’s top scorer for June. Binaghi’s two goals against the Dalton Red Wolves gave South Georgia its first win on the road. The Argentinian forward also scored the game-winning goal at SC United Bantams, giving South Georgia three points on the road.
Binaghi received 36.26% of the total fan vote, edging out midfielder Nick Akoto who earned 31.94%. Defender Owen Marshall and midfielder JC Ngando followed with 31.20% and 0.58% of the vote.

Tormenta FC’s USL League One team takes Forward Madison FC on the road this Saturday, July 16, at 8 p.m. ET. Tormenta FC 2 finished their 2022 USL League Two season after their regular season ended at Peachtree City MOBA. The USL W League side will take on FC Miami City on Wednesday, July 13, at 6 p.m. ET.
