Just three days after a winning start to their 2025 USL W League campaign, South Georgia Tormenta FC battled to a 1-1 draw on the road tonight against the Charlotte Eagles.
Charlotte struck first in the 13th minute, intercepting a Tormenta pass to gain an early lead and leaving the ibis trailing by one at halftime. In the 65th minute, Tormenta’s Constance Agyemang scored her second goal in as many games, continuing her hot start to the season. The forward tricked the Charlotte goalkeeper and made a composed finish between the keeper and a defender, leveling the match 1-1 and securing a hard-earned point for the Ibis.
Tormenta FC looks to keep momentum growing in another quick turnaround, traveling to face NC Courage U23 at WakeMed Soccer Park this Friday, May 23 at 3:00 p.m. The team then returns to Statesboro for its anticipated home opener on Wednesday, May 28, at 7:30 p.m. against North Carolina Fusion.
