STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC adds more local talent to its inaugural USL W League roster with defender and forward Hannah Farmer, pending league and federation approval. A Savannah, Georgia, native, Farmer excelled with TFC Academy from ages 11 to 15 and now returns to the club to further her path to pro journey.
“Hannah Farmer brings high-level experience and versatility to our team and is capable of playing both sides of the ball, either as a wide attacking player or an outside back,” USL W League Head Coach Jim Robbins said. “Hannah will fit seamlessly into our playing style and will be a key player for us as we establish our identity as a program and a team that aspires to succeed at the highest level in the league this summer.”
Farmer recently culminated her senior season with the University of North Florida Ospreys and finished the 2021 season with 16 appearances and four starts, scoring one goal from the backline.
Prior to joining the Ospreys, Farmer played three seasons and 43 matches at the College of Charleston, recording four goals and three assists throughout her time with the Cougars. The South Georgia local was also named to the CAA All-Rookie team in 2018.
“I am so excited to be playing for Tormenta FC this summer,” Farmer commented. “I grew up playing with the club’s youth academy, so to be a part of Tormenta’s USL W League inaugural season is a huge honor. Let’s get to work!”
Farmer joins a growing roster of both local and international talent with the most recent addition of decorated goalkeeper Sydney Martinez. Farmer and Martinez, two South Georgia natives, bolster the current lineup of forwards Elise Holcey, Remi Olalere and Amy Andrews and midfielder Madison Foshee.
Tormenta FC was named a founding member of the USL W League in June of 2021, bringing the region’s first pre-professional women’s team to Statesboro. In alignment with the USL League Two season, the W League will kick off in May and end with the W League Playoffs and W League Final in late July.
