STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC will face off against Greenville Triumph SC for the third and final time in the 2023 USL League One regular season on Saturday, with the newly created Peach States Derby trophy to play for starting at 7:30 p.m. ET from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium.

Tormenta FC is coming into the match on a hot streak, outsourcing opponents 9-3 in its last two matches played. A 5-1 road win against Lexington SC and a 4-2 home victory against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC have Head Coach Ian Cameron and the team eager to continue their good form against the club’s regional rival.
Meanwhile, Greenville enters Saturday’s affair following a devastating loss against the Charlotte Independence. Prior to Wednesday’s defeat, Greenville had won four consecutive games and was unbeaten in seven straight.
Greenville has been led by Leonardo Castro and Lyam MacKinnon in the 2023 campaign thus far, with the former scoring six goals and providing four assists to date.
Following Saturday’s Peach States Derby, Tormenta FC shifts its attention to a two-game road test. Tormenta FC will travel to play Forward Madison FC on Wednesday, July 26, at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+) and then travel to play Union Omaha on Saturday July 29, at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN+).
