CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – South Georgia Tormenta FC heads to Tennessee to face off against regional rival Chattanooga Red Wolves SC for the third and final time in the 2023 USL League One regular season. South Georgia won both matchups earlier this season by a combined scoreline of 6-2.
Tormenta FC enters Saturday’s contest with the best offense across the league, scoring a league-high 43 goals so far this campaign. With a 9-11-4 (W-L-D) overall record, TFC is in need of as many points from its remaining games as possible in order to jump up the standings and into a League One Playoffs spot. Led by Kazaiah Sterling, who has scored 11 goals in the 2023 season, South Georgia will be eager to pounce on any goal-scoring opportunities offered up by Chattanooga, which has only two shutouts on the year.

The Red Wolves, meanwhile, are 5-14-5 on the year, scoring only 26 goals (second worst) this season and giving up 333 fouls (tied for second most) in league play. Chattanooga is coming into the match on the heels of a 1-2 defeat to Greenville Triumph SC on Wednesday, and the team will be looking at forward Chevone Marsh, who has 10 goals in 2023, to lift the squad to victory at home.
Following Saturday’s contest, Tormenta FC heads home to prepare for a showdown against One Knoxville SC at 7:30 p.m. ET from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium on Sept. 1 (ESPN+).
