Tormenta FC Academy Breaks Down Barriers to Youth Soccer
Pilot Program will Fully Fund Three Academy Teams for 2019/2020 Seasons
The direct pathway to professional play is now a reality for youth soccer players in the South Georgia area. Cost is one of the significant barriers to youth soccer participation, and this year, Tormenta FC Academy will finance youth soccer fees for three teams: 2007 boys, 2007 girls and 2006 boys. This includes all financial obligations such as registration, uniforms, league and tournament fees, training camps and travel to accommodate the “professional” experience .
Through a coalition of donors and corporate sponsorships, Tormenta FC Academy has created this pilot program to determine the feasibility of eliminating the pay to play model for all members of the Academy’s top level teams. The model will identify and cultivate the top soccer talent in the area while removing a significant barrier to participation.
“Tormenta FC Academy is extremely excited about being the leader in youth sports in creating opportunities for players that may not have otherwise been available,” Brad Nein, Director of Youth Soccer at Tormenta FC Academy said. “We look forward to building and growing this transformational experience.”
