Tormenta Partners with The University Campus of Football Business at Wembley
Two UCFB Students join the Tormenta Team from Europe for Summer 2019
STATESBORO, GA. – From football to soccer, University Campus of Football Business at Wembley students Sam Bolton and Joan Sospedra will spend the summer in Statesboro, interning for Tormenta FC. Tormenta FC has partnered with UCFB to offer this unique student internship experience abroad. Sam Bolton and Joan Sospedra were selected out of over three hundred prospects to take part in this new partnership. This summer, Bolton and Sospedra will learn more about the American soccer landscape and the United Soccer League while using their international experience to help Tormenta expand its brand.
Sam Bolton and Joan Sospedra are 22-year-old students enrolled at UCFB Wembley in London. Hailing from England, Bolton studies Sports, Business and Broadcasting and is putting his multimedia skills to use in Tormenta’s communications department. “Getting to experience a football club in another country is an amazing opportunity and will better my understanding of how football teams around the world work,” Bolton said. “The past week at Tormenta has been really good so far. We’ve already got a little family going on, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the summer goes.”
Sospedra grew up in the Catalonia region of Spain and is getting his masters degree in Business Management at UCFB. Sospedra will help promote Tormenta FC to the Hispanic community in South Georgia through implementing Spanish on all club social accounts and on the club website, along with other marketing and advertising strategies. “I traveled here to discover new soccer and to grow in markets other than just Europe,” Sospedra said. “I really love the community that this club has. It’s completely different from Spain. There, a match at this level would be nothing, but here, there is a lot of excitement and fans watching the games. Football here is amazing.”
Founded in 2011, UCFB is one of the premier football administration academies in the U.K. UCFB Wembley infuses high-caliber professionalism into their students by providing them with an array of diverse experiences before entering the workforce. Tormenta FC is one of the first teams in the USL to utilize this service.
