South Georgia Tormenta FC has signed 18-year-old defender Finnley O’Brien to its 2025 USL League One roster. Hailing from El Paso, O’Brien is available for match selection starting this Saturday against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.
“Finn has really mature habits for someone so young. He speaks up on the field, in group settings, is always dialed into sessions, and that platform of presence at all times will provide him opportunities. He joins our group and makes himself available to compete with the other defenders for minutes as he looks to make the next step in his career.”
Ian Cameron, Tormenta FC Head Coach
In March 2023, the defender signed a USL Academy contract with the USL Championship’s El Paso Locomotive. O’Brien trained alongside the USL squad and competed for the Locomotive’s U20 team. In April 2023, the rising defender made his professional debut in the U.S. Open Cup for El Paso in a 2-0 win over Union Omaha.
“I’m very excited to take this next step in my career with Tormenta, and I look forward to helping the team achieve great things!”
